Across 120 verses, Bhatta Narayana builds a case that devotion to Shiva outweighs ritual, intellect, and worldly achievement. Swami Lakshmanjoo's commentary unpacks the Sanskrit line by line, including a striking reinterpretation of the Gayatri mantra that reframes it as a prayer for guidance on the Shaiva path rather than a request for wisdom or wealth. Readers walk away with a clearer sense of how the non-dual Kashmir Shaivism tradition understood love, surrender, and the nature of Shiva as ultimate reality.
